The Wake Democratic Mens Club (WDMC) holds its regular dinner meeting on the second Monday of every month (except July and December) at the Clarion Hotel, 320 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, one block west of Goodwin House. The October 2009 WDMC meeting will be held on Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Clarion Hotel. Registration starts at 6 PM, and a plated dinner is served at 6:30 PM. The cost of the sit-down dinner is $16 for members, first-time guests, and those not eligible for Club membership, $20 for non-members. All registered Wake County voters are eligible for Club membership. Please note the change in the cost of the meal for non-members. Democratic Women Will Hold October Evening Meeting Democratic Women of Wake County will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday evening, October 29, 2009 at the NC State University Club, 4200 Hillsborough Street. The program will feature Anna Hayes, author of Without Precedent: The Life of Susie Marshall Sharp. Susie Sharp was the first female Chief Justice of the NC Supreme Court. Quail Ridge Books will have books available for purchase and Anna Hayes will autograph newly purchased books, as well as those brought to the event. The schedule for the evening includes Cocktails at 5:30 pm, Buffet Dinner at 6:00 pm and the program at 6:30 pm. The cost of the dinner is $15.00 payable at the door.
