SENATOR DAN BLUE HOSTS TOWN HALL MEETING FOR WAKE FOREST AND ROLESVILLE
Blue will give residents an opportunity to share their concerns prior to legislative session

Senator Dan Blue is hosting a town hall meeting from 6:30 pm – 8:00pm on Thursday, February 11 at the Northern Regional Center. Senator Blue encourages members of the local community to attend and engage in a conversation on the goals and priorities of the state government in 2010.

"Although we do not go back into formal session until May, it is important that we get to work now on solving the challenges facing North Carolina,” said Blue. “Creating jobs and lowering the unemployment rate continues to be my top priority, and is unequivocally the most pressing need across our district. However, as we move forward we must not lose focus of our other goals, such as working to create the top public education system in the nation, providing affordable and accessible health care and cracking down on gangs, drugs, and violence within our communities."

Blue knows that Wake County parents and teachers have many concerns as we move into 2010 and hopes to hear from each of them along with others to help shape policy for our State. The State Legislature has worked hard to ensure that public education is a top priority and Senator Blue will continue that tradition and fight for what is best for the children of Wake County.

Senator Blue currently serves on the following committees: Appropriations/Base Budget, Appropriations on Education/Higher Education, Commerce, Finance, Judiciary, Rules, and Ways and Means.

The event will be at the Northern Regional Center at 350 Holding Street in Wake Forest and is open to all.

Description:
On Friday, February 12th, the Wake County Young Democrats and the Young Democrats of North Carolina are joining forces for a social event and fundraiser for Haiti at Solas Lounge at 7PM.

We are donating absolutely all the proceeds from this event to the Clinton/ Bush Haiti Fund in which the suggested donation is $10. But of course more is appreciated.

So we are asking Democrats, Republicans, and other political and non political affiliations of all ages, to come and join us the night before the State Executive Committee meeting for this social event and fundraiser for Haiti. And even if you just want to come out and have a good time for a good cause, come through because it will be for a good cause. And everyone that contributes $10 or more, will be entered into a raffle to win a $50 dollar visa gift card as our way of saying thank you.

Our country has showed unwavering support towards the people of Haiti. We thank all of you who have given thus far through your text messages and phone calls to several charitable organizations. Let's continue that spirit of giving. Please join us for this night of fun, but yet, of a serious matter.
