Valentine Fundraiser Phonebanking/VDF Committee Meeting

Join fellow Democrats to kick off the 2012 Election Year! Our most important fundraiser is around the corner. We need our most enthusiastic volunteers to help call fellow Dems to invite them to the 32nd Annual Valentine Fundraiser. These are FUN calls to make. More importantly you’ll be a part of raising the funds necessary to have the strongest Get Out The Vote campaign ever.

The VDF Committee members will also be having a meeting.

Democratic Women of Wake County Luncheon Meeting

Democratic Women of Wake County will hold a luncheon meeting on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the NC State University Club, 4200 Hillsborough Street in Raleigh.

Sarah Preston, Policy Director for ACLU NC, will present details of the major legislation of the 2011 Session of the North Carolina Legislature that reversed or diminished women’s rights.

The buffet lines open at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12 noon. The cost of the luncheon is $16.00 payable at the door.

Jay Parmley, NCDP executive director, to discuss:

  • Delegation process (allowing people to go to Charlotte)
  • Discuss the redistricting maps.
  • The levels of organization to get to the convention. (precinct, county, district & state) This could be included in the delegation process. Most people aren’t familiar with what it means to be in an organized precinct.
  • Motivating people to look forward to starting a new election year.
