Pat Hawkins was the first chair of the 13th Congressional District for 2 & ½ years. She was also an elected delegate to the 2004 National Democratic Convention. For the NCDP she was a member of the Platform & Resolutions Committee and served as a member of the Executive Council.

For Wake County Pat held the offices of Secretary, Vice-Chair for Raleigh, and First Vice-Chair., and has been on the NC Executive Committee for many years. She has worked on numerous precinct projects from annual candidates’ picnic to precinct chair. Pat was the editor of the monthly newsletter for the DWWC, by laws chair, nominating committee, and others. She was named an NC Star by the NCDW.
