TOWN HALL MEETING WITH CONGRESSMEN DAVID PRICE AND BRAD MILLER

The Western Wake Democrats are pleased to announce that Congressmen David Price and Brad Miller will hold a joint Town Hall meeting and question and answer period on Saturday, September 20, 2008, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, at the Glenaire Retirement Center, 4000 Glenaire Circle, in Cary, NC. This Event is sponsored by the Western Wake Democrats and is free and open to the public.
Congressman Price has represented the Triangle in District 4 for nearly 20 years. He now serves on the influential Appropriations Committee and is the Chairman of the subcommittee on Homeland Security. He also serves on the subcommittee for Commerce, Justice and Science and the subcommittee for Transportation, Housing and urban Development.
He is also Chair of the House Democracy Assistance Commission, which he initiated to strengthen parliaments in emerging democracies throughout the world.
Congressman Miller has represented District 13 since 2002, having also served in the NC Senate for six years and the NC House of Representatives for 2 years. A member of the Financial Services Committee, Congressman Miller is a lead sponsor of legislation to protect consumers from predatory mortgage lending practices. As a member of the Science Committee, Miller has been a leader in supporting basic research and is the lead sponsor of legislation to help research universities obtain patents and prepare business plans for commercial uses for the product of their research.
Congressman Miller also founded the Community College Caucus in the House to rally support for the role of community colleges in adult education and job training.
