The Southern Wake Democrats are a forming group working to provide a place for concerned citizens, neighbors and democrats to join together and address local, regional, state and national issues. Together we hope to become a powerful grassroots effort of precincts helping precincts, volunteers helping candidates, and citizens working with elected officials to bring about participation in our communities and democracy. At our first official meeting we had guest speaker Keith Karlsson, candidate and soon to be chair of the Wake County Democrat party. Keith talked about the direction of the county party as well as answer questions. These are the annual Congressional District Conventions. Wake County's delegates to the District Conventions were selected at the Wake County Convention. The Convention will elect District Officers (Chair, First Vice Chair, etc.) and will consider resolutions passed at the Wake County Convention and at the conventions of the other counties in the District. The meeting will last 3-4 hours or so.
