Description A 30-minute, candlelight vigil in support of peace, our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and Cindy Sheehan, mother of soldier, Casey Sheehan, who died in Iraq 04/04/04. Here is what Cindy said about the vigils: "I invite mothers everywhere to stand up with me so that no more of our sons and daughters se their lives for a war based on lies and deception. Join me in demanding the truth—and an end to the war—by organizing vigils across the country, before one more mother's child is lost."

Description Quiet vigil on the sidewalks of Boylan Street bridge. This is the same location as the peace vigil that was held before the war started. Bring a candle in some kind of holder to protect your hands from hot wax.
The Young Democrats of Wake County present the P.R. Latta Volunteer of the Year Award annually to a member of the Democratic Party residing in Wake County who has shown an outstanding and lifelong commitment to grassroots activism. Past award winners include P.R. Latta, Al Adams, Betty Ann Knudsen, and Eugene Weeks.
The 2005 recipient of the award is Mr. Ronnie Condrey. Join us as we honor Ronnie and grassroots Democratic activism on August 25th.
