Canvassing – going door-to-door delivering campaign literature and talking with voters. We'll be canvassing each Saturday and the last Sunday before the election. Times are 10am – 2pm on Saturdays and noon – 4pm that Sunday. It's fun, it's a great way to meet other Democrats, it's a good excuse to take a walk, and IT'S VITAL TO WINNING THESE RACES! To volunteer please contact Kristen Ward, our Volunteer Coordinator at kris10ward@hotmail.com or 828-5656 today.
Start: Nov 5 2005 - 10:30am

The Wake County Progressive Democrats proudly invite the public to a special screening of “Good Night, Good Luck” to be held in the Rialto Theater on Saturday, November 5th at 11:30am. The film dramatically relives Edward R. Murrow's legendary on-air confrontations with Senator Joseph McCarthy and the opposition he and his colleagues faced along the way. The cost of admission will be $10 with proceeds to support progressive candidates and causes that affect Wake County.

The Wake County Progressive Democrats believe in the absolute necessity for an uncensored and accountable press. We feel that especially since September 11th, our nation’s mainstream press has suffered from internal censorship by their corporate owners, a lack of journalistic courage, or both. As part of our goal to promote progressive ideas, we feel an obligation to remind our fellow citizens of this nation’s history with political censorship and the importance of speaking truth to power.
