WCDP Election Central – Candidate Information

Candidate Statement:
My name is Cheryl Stallings, and I serve on the Wake County Board of Commissioners, representing District 3. I'm a psychologist, business owner, and former Apex Town Council member. I was first elected to the County Commission in 2022, and I look forward to running for re-election in 2026!
I believe deeply in public service that puts people first. That's why I've worked hard to invest in healthy and safe communities, support a strong public education system, protect our environment, expand access to affordable housing, and ensure our growing county is a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
I am a North Carolina native, having grown up in the northeastern part of the state in the farming community of Belvidere. Growing up on a family farm taught me many valuable life lessons, like the importance of a strong work ethic, faith, having each other's back in the community, and being a good steward of the land, water, and air.
I am running for re-election to continue serving the people of District 3 and Wake County. In partnership with my Board colleagues, I will continue working to provide opportunities for a healthy and sustainable economy, community, and environment for all.
Direct Quote:
I'm pleased with the work that our current Board has accomplished, but there is still more to do. And I'm ready to keep working for the people of District 3!
