Candidate Statement:

I've spent my entire career working towards a more equitable and just country for all. As your Congresswoman, I am focused on defending fairness, equality, and progress, particularly in the face of the chaos and pain caused by Donald Trump and his Republican enablers in Congress. Now more than ever, I am fighting my heart out for Wake County in Washington, D.C. and bringing home real results for my constituents.

Wake County is one of the best places in America to call home and we continue to attract new residents and businesses from across the country and around the world. While this growth has largely been positive, we have also seen rising rents and housing costs as well as lagging investment in modern infrastructure to meet our region's needs. In Congress, I've secured greater federal resources for affordable housing and transportation for the people of Wake County.

The bottom line is that prices remain too high for my constituents. I am working to lower grocery, gas, childcare, and utility costs by standing up to corporations like Duke Energy and holding corrupt bad actors accountable. In Congress, I am fighting to raise the federal minimum wage, roll back tariffs that increase costs for consumers, extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits to lower monthly insurance premiums, cap prescription drug prices, and reinstate the Child Tax Credit and other fully refundable tax credits that put money back into the pockets of working parents.

We will look into Trump's stock trading, crypto schemes, using the Department of Justice as a weapon against his enemies, and selling pardons to the highest bidder.
