WCDP Election Central – Candidate Information

Candidate Statement:
As a WCPSS parent, the success of our public schools is personal to me. That's why I've served as an active PTA volunteer, an at-large representative on the District 7 Board Advisory Council, and a board member for the NC Alliance for Health, where we champion School Meals for All.
I bring a unique and complementary perspective to this role. For the past 13 years, my career has centered on food justice and nutrition access. I deeply understand that our public schools are an essential support structure for Wake County's most vulnerable children and families, and the Board of Education is where I can leverage my policy experience to make the greatest impact in our community.
Board member (and former chair) Chris Heagarty has been a strong mentor to me. As he steps aside, I hope to build on his legacy of thoughtful, collaborative leadership. I am honored to have earned the support of a majority of our sitting school board members along with a broad coalition of local elected officials, and I look forward to bringing both a parent's voice and a policy background to work for our WCPSS community.
