Candidate Statement:

My service as a District Court judge in Wake County has been incredibly rewarding. During my tenure, I have presided in criminal, civil and juvenile courtrooms with a focus on cases involving abused and neglected children and domestic violence.

I am honored to come from a family of public servants. I am proud of my grandfather Harry Phillips' service as Chief Judge of the Sixth Judicial District U.S. Court of Appeals and my father's service as Chief Judge of the N.C. Court of Appeals. I hope to continue their legacies of dedication to the rule of law and commitment to impartiality. My family has shown me that public service is an important and noble calling.

From 2011 to 2013, I served as one of two judges in the Abuse, Neglect and Dependency Courtroom, addressing allegations of children being abused or neglected. During that time, I received my Judicial Juvenile Certification.
