Originally from Wilmington NC, Harrison moved to the Triangle Area to pursue engineering degrees at NC State University and has called Western Wake county home for the last 13 years, living in Southwest Raleigh, Cary, and now Morrisville. Issues:
Sustainability
Sustainability means meeting today’s needs without sacrificing the future. The needs can be environmental, social, or economic. Morrisville’s rapid growth has strained our environment, infrastructure, and community well-being. This imbalance threatens the very qualities that attract people here. While Morrisville has taken steps toward sustainability, more must be done.
Transportation
Morrisville’s traffic congestion cannot be solved by more development or wider roads. Real solutions mean prioritizing pedestrians. This includes adding shaded sidewalks, bike lanes, and greenways as essential parts of our transportation network.
Community
By prioritizing pedestrian-oriented development patterns, we can create the vibrant public places that we all crave while at the same time strengthening social bonds, supporting local economic development, improving our health, and reducing our dependence on cars. A more connected Morrisville is a more perfect Morrisville.
