Fill The Gallery

January 27 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Democracy dies in darkness. We are partnering with the Virginia Democrats to make sure that members of the public attend oral arguments in the court case surrounding Republicans’ unconstitutional attempt to throw out over 60,000 ballots and overturn Justice Allison Riggs’ victory.

This case has far-reaching implications. If Republicans can establish a playbook in North Carolina to overturn elections, they can use it anywhere. It is vitally important that the court act in favor of the voters who duly went to the ballot box and made their voices heard. Elections have to mean something — and right now, it’s on us to make sure that they do.

What: A peaceful, silent demonstration of support for Justice Allison Riggs and her attorneys, to show Jefferson Griffin and Republicans that we are watching their every move. There are 111 seats in the gallery – we want every one of those seats to be filled with Democrats.

Where: Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Lewis F. Powell Jr. Courthouse & Annex 1100 East Main Street, Suite 501 Richmond, VA 23219

When: Oral arguments begin at 3:30 and are expected to last about an hour and a half. Please plan to be there by 3:00. Visitors must show photo identification and pass through security screening.
