Join us for the Southern Springs Social, a community gathering where neighbors can connect, meet candidates for Congress, and learn more about the issues shaping our communities and the 2026 election. Whether you follow politics closely or are simply interested in learning more about the people seeking to represent our area, everyone is welcome.
We’ll be joined by Paul Barringer and Congresswoman Valerie Foushee, two candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives in neighboring congressional districts that include portions of Wake County.
This is an opportunity to meet the candidates in an informal setting, hear about their priorities, and learn more about the choices voters will make in the November 3 general election.
Congresswoman Valerie Foushee currently represents North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House and is seeking reelection in November. A longtime North Carolina public servant, she served in local government and the North Carolina General Assembly before being elected to Congress in 2022. Her campaign highlights priorities including affordability, healthcare, public education, reproductive freedom, jobs, and protecting democratic rights.

Paul Barringer is the Democratic nominee for North Carolina’s 13th Congressional District, running for the U.S. House of Representatives. An attorney and healthcare consultant who lives in Lee County, Barringer’s priorities include affordable healthcare, fiscal policy, education, agriculture, veterans, immigration, conservation, and other issues affecting North Carolinians.
