WCDP Election Central – Candidate Information
Deans Eatman
Wendell Town Commission
Candidate Statement:
I’m Deans Eatman, and I’ve served as a Wendell Town Commissioner since 2021. I’m running for reelection to keep Wendell moving forward with smart investments, walkable neighborhoods, and a connected, welcoming community that continues to be a Small Town with Big Charm.
Issues:
Strong Neighborhoods
Growth should strengthen our community and improve quality of life. I support development that’s well-integrated with its surroundings and planned with intention. That includes: Balancing residential and commercial growth, creating more pathways to homeownership, and preserving historic and natural assets.
Reliable Infrastructure
As Wendell grows, we need to keep pace with infrastructure that supports safe, connected, and resilient neighborhoods. That’s why I’m focused on: expanding our sidewalk and greenway networks, upgrading stormwater systems, street maintenance, and traffic safety, and advocating for regional transportation solutions.
A Thriving, Welcoming Community
Wendell’s small-town feel and strong sense of place are some of our greatest strengths. As we grow, we must protect what makes our town special while embracing new opportunities. I’m committed to: revitalizing downtown through business-friendly policies, expanding parks, trails, and cultural programming, and keeping Wendell safe and community-oriented.
