WCDP Election Central – Candidate Information
Quentin Miles
Zebulon Town Commission
Candidate Statement:
I’ve decided to run for Commissioner of Zebulon because our town is growing rapidly, and we need leadership that can balance progress with preservation. As a current commissioner and Marine Corps veteran, I bring a service-first mindset and a results-driven approach to local government. My motivation is simple: I want to ensure that the decisions being made reflect the needs, values, and hopes of all Zebulon residents.
Issues:
Responsible Growth
Zebulon’s most urgent issue is managing the pressure of rapid growth while ensuring our infrastructure keeps up. Our town is experiencing a population boom, and while growth brings opportunity, it also strains roads, water and sewer systems, and public services.
Making sure our residents can afford to live here
Affordable housing is an issue close to my heart. I’ve seen hardworking families and seniors priced out of the communities they helped build. In a growing town like Zebulon, we must plan smartly and ensure housing remains within reach for all – not just the wealthy or well-connected. Everyone deserves a place to call home.
Supporting our natural environment
Zebulon’s rapid growth has increased pressure on our land, water, and air quality. We can’t afford to wait for others to act, we must be proactive. Our town should adopt stronger land use policies that prioritize green space, protect wetlands, and reduce stormwater runoff. We also need to invest in sustainable infrastructure such as low-impact development and greenway connectivity that supports both growth and environmental health.
