VPB for DVC Leads – Hosting VPB Sessions

This is the second of two one-hour training sessions that follow “Direct Voter Contact Lead 101,” for DVC Leads and other precinct and area officers who organize Virtual Phone Banking (VPB) events. 

Prerequisite: This session assumes that attendees have used the OpenVPB phone-banking platform and are familiar with its basic functions and navigation. DVC Leads and others who plan to host VPB training sessions for volunteers but are not yet familiar with OpenVPB’s functions should attend a VPB session as a volunteer first to receive training on OpenVPB. This session covers how to host a virtual training session for volunteers in Google Meet, including:

• The basics of hosting training sessions in Google Meet
• An outline and tips for training volunteers on OpenVPB
• Available training materials for DVC Leads and other local VPB organizers
• Tips, tricks, and common technical support issues for assisting phone-banking volunteers

Organizers who will plan and organize VPB sessions for volunteers (in addition to conducting the actual training) also should register for and attend the preceding class to this one, “VPB for DVC Leads – Planning VPB Sessions.”
